Following 5 minute Simple Basic Checkups & Car Care will give you trouble free operation & you will be a happy car owner.

Ask your Salesman or service manager when you purchase the car to show you in person by opening the hood, “how to check basic stuff on your car”. Also, make sure you read/browse through the Owner’s Manual because you will learn a lot about basic, important things about your car.

1st of Each Month Checkups: Most Important Basic Car Care

  1. Check ALL Tire Pressures & fill them to the required pressure if low. The required pressure is mentioned on the door usually or the frame & in the manual as well. Maintaining required tire pressure will give you better mileage/gallon or liter & the tires will last longer. Your car will be more safe & stable when you drive as well.
  2. Check Engine Oil level. Make sure it is to the max else top it up with recommended engine oil. Unless you have a leak or your engine is burning oil, the engine oil level should NOT go down.
  3. Check Transmission Oil level. Make sure it is to the max else top it up with recommended transmission oil.
  4. Check Engine Coolant level. Make sure it is to the max else top it up with recommended coolant.
  5. Check Power Steering Oil level. Make sure it is to the max else top it up with recommended PS Oil.
  6. Check Brake Fluid/Oil level. Make sure it is to the max else top it up with recommended Brake oil.

Periodically check under your car when you move your car from your parking spot to see if you see any oil drops to make sure there are no oil leaks anywhere. NONE of the oil levels should drop below max if there is no leak.
